The Korea Testing Certification Institute (KTC, President Ahn Seong-il) announced on the 3rd that it will co-host the Asia Air Movement and Control Association (Asia AMCA) Regional Meeting & Insight Seminar 2024.
The Air Movement and Control Association International (AMCA), established in 1917, is a non-profit association with branches in Europe and Asia, providing product certification services related to blowers, air flow measurement devices, louvers, etc. It has over 400 member companies, including 172 in the U.S., 156 in Asia, 40 in Europe, and 39 in the Middle East.
The event will take place on September 5th at Novotel Ambassador Hotel in Dongdaemun, Seoul, with key figures from five companies from the U.S., Singapore, Thailand, India, and China, along with around 50 representatives from domestic and international blower manufacturers.
The seminar is designed to provide insights into global trends in efficiency regulations, the latest technology trends, and testing and certification developments in the blower industry. It will also introduce FEG and FEI, and offer an overview of market and technology trends in Asia AMCA.
FEG (Fan Efficiency Grade): An indicator that represents the energy efficiency of fans in grades.
FEI (Fan Energy Index): An indicator of the energy efficiency of fans under specific operating conditions.
The keynote speech at the seminar will be delivered by the President of Asia AMCA, and Professor Lee Chan from Suwon University has been invited as the technical presentation speaker to present on "Developments in Blower Noise Reduction Technology."
Prior to the seminar, participants will visit the KTC Poseung Test Lab, an independent AMCA testing facility, on the 4th to inspect its equipment, research staff, and testing capabilities.
AMCA conducts annual technical seminars for its over 400 member companies worldwide. This is the first time an AMCA technical seminar has been held in Korea.
Since being designated as an independent AMCA testing laboratory in 2009, KTC has been offering blower testing services, continuously building a strong collaborative relationship. As a result, KTC is hosting the first joint seminar in Korea, and plans to further strengthen cooperation in the future.
After the seminar, KTC plans to discuss signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with AMCA in 2025 for the extension of the independent testing lab and the expansion of test and certification items.
The global blower market was valued at approximately $70 billion in 2022 and is projected to steadily grow to $77 billion by 2028. The domestic industrial blower market has been growing continuously by over 5% annually since 2011.
Through this seminar, KTC expects that domestic export companies will be able to understand the testing and certification trends regarding blower industry standardization levels and efficiency regulations, and enhance their global competitiveness by exchanging information on the latest technology and market trends.
KTC President Ahn Seong-il said, "By hosting the AMCA technical seminar for the first time in Korea, we have created a venue for technical responses and information exchange," and added, "We will continue to support domestic export companies to lead the global market by focusing on key capabilities."
