KTC, the World’s No. 1 Testing Certification Institute Leading the Way to the 4th Industrial Revolution
The Korean Testing Certification Institute (KTC) announced on the 14th that it will participate in the ‘2026 6th Korea Drone & UAM Expo’, which will be held from July 15 to 17 at Songdo Convensia in Incheon. KTC will present the latest developments in international standards for Vertiport charging systems—an essential foundation for the commercialization of next-generation Urban Air Mobility (UAM)—as well as its related testing and certification capabilities.
Jointly hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Incheon City, this exhibition is held under the theme "Drone & UAM, Changing Everyday Life and Shaping the Future." KTC will join the core exhibition space, the ‘UAM Pavilion,’ conducting a joint display with relevant organizations engaged in major national UAM projects and introducing comprehensive safety and performance evaluation criteria for Vertiport charging infrastructure.
Currently, KTC’s Aerospace Business Center is participating as an implementing organization in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s key technology development project for safe K-UAM operations, titled ‘Development of Modular Mobile Vertiport Design, Construction Technology, and Monitoring System.’ Through this exhibition, KTC will introduce the core requirements for the ‘megawatt (MW)-class high-power automatic charging’ system being developed under this project and will share future directions for linking with global standards based on the latest trends from key international standardization organizations such as SAE International and EUROCAE.
KTC plans to use this expo as an opportunity to expand technical exchanges among representatives from industry, academia, research institutes, and government, and to strengthen cooperative frameworks for UAM commercialization. Furthermore, as a testing and certification expert in the UAM industry, KTC will continue to expand its support infrastructure so that domestic companies can proactively respond to global regulations and standards.
President Sung-il Ahn of KTC stated, “For UAM to become an established means of transportation in the daily lives of citizens, a safe and reliable Vertiport infrastructure supported by globally recognized testing and certification systems is essential. Taking this exhibition as an opportunity, KTC will actively share its expertise in core charging technology standardization and certification to fully support our companies so that their innovative technologies can overcome trade barriers and contribute to enhancing the global competitiveness of K-UAM.”
