Overview

Types of the meters subject to type approval
Types Criteria
Flat-bed manual scale Include the rated additional weight.
Dish type or flat-bed type radial scales The scales with the maximum capacity not more than 2kg indicated for household uses.
Electronic dial scale A scale of which the resolution of a grade is less than 10mg; the number of the black grades is less than 100 or exceeding 200,000
Weight Exclude those of Grade E1.
Gas meter Limit the minimum flow rate to 1000m3/h or less.
Water meter Includes hot water meters, and the nominal diameter shall not exceed 350mm.
Oil meter The nominal diameter shall not exceed 100mm.
Fueling pump Excluding the ones for watercrafts and aircrafts.
LPG meter For fueling automobiles. The nominal diameter shall be no more than 40mm.
Tanks with grades Only those used to selling oil.

  • 3. Type certificate re-issuance fee: 30,000 won per type

    • o Trave cost as per the applicable travel cost for Grade 5 public official as per the Rules for the Travel Cost of Public Officials
  • 5. Transportation and operation cost
    • The cost for the testing equipment, machines, and instruments for a type testing. Not applicable if the party that receives the type certification transports them for him/herself.
Price (for Item 1, Article 3)
  • Registration as a meter manufacturing business: 50,000 won (per registration)
  • Registration as a meter repair business: 30,000 won (per registration)
  • Meter verification business registration: 30,000 won (per registration)
  • Registration of a meter importing business: 30,000 won (per registration)
  • After the completion of the development, it is required to open the result of the development to the public as a principle. Also, the evaluation shall take into account whether a standard has been established and the result is commercially used in the field.
