Children’s environment

Children’s environment

Overview
  • Our laboratories evaluate the compliance of the children’s surrounding environment according to the laws on environment and health with the environmental safety standards and makes suggestions for improvement as the designated environmental hazard testing agency based on the decree of the Ministry of Environment.
The tests on children’s environment
  • When an owner of a children's environment had it newly built or expanded/repaired it beyond a certain scale, the owner must have the facility tested by a testing agency for environmental hazards (hereinafter referred to as a ‘testing agency’) according to Article 23-2 of the law to verify the compliance with the safety and health standards.
  • * It is also possible to have other facilities that are not classified as a children’s environment tested as per the same environmental safety standard for environmental hazards if the facility is still used by children. (However, in this case, the test report cannot be submitted for legal purposes.)
Test items
  • When a new children’s environment has been constructed
  • If the gross floor area of a children’s environment has increased by 33㎡ or more
(including shifting the use of a space that was not a children’s space)
  • Repairing 70㎡ or more of children's space
Time of the test
  • Within 30 days from a new construction, expansion, or repairing of a children's environment
  • * If a permit or change permit is required by the applicable laws, the test request must be made before obtaining the permit or change permit, so that the test can be applied to the permit or change permit.
