European Community Mark_CE
An integrated certification mark for the European Union. The products that are related to the safety of the consumers are required to have a CE Mark attached to it.CE standards for Conformity European in French and CE Marking indicates that the product complies with the standards the EU that concerns safety, environment, and consumer protection.
How to get CE Marking
A manufacturer must review the harmonized standards and identify the standard that applies to its products. If there are harmonized standards, the manufacturer can conduct its own test to fill out a technical file, which can be issued as a DOC. For a product without a standard, Items 10.1 and 10.2 of EEC Directive 89/336/EEC shall apply. As a result, they need to be certified by a competent body, or a notify body and fill out a TCF (Technical Construction File).
Self Cerification
- Limited to the harmonized products
- It can now issue reports using external agencies or its own testing equipment.

- Prepare a DOC (Declaration of Conformity) => Prepare the document based on the test report.
- · Submit the document within seven days when requested by a government agency.
- · The delegator within the EU or the importer may declare conformity.
- Archival requirement (The documents need to be archived for 10 years after the discontinuation of the product.)

- Applies to wireless devices
- Applies to the products without harmonized standards
- The Notify Body must conduct the test.
- Only the Notify Body can certify.
- Issue the DOC based on the approval document and the TCF (Technical Construction File).
- Only a Competent Body can conduct the test (when there are no harmonized standards, and the product is subject to Section 10.2 of EEC Directive)
