The Korea Testing & Research Institute (KTC, President An Sung-il) announced on the 27th that it would participate in the WELL SLEEP FAIR 2024, a conference and exhibition diagnosing the present and future of sleep economics.
Sleep Economics: A portmanteau of sleep and economics, referring to the sleep industry. It describes the economic phenomenon where modern people, with reduced sleep time, consume products for deep and comfortable sleep.
This event will be held from the 27th to the 29th at Hall 2 of Songdo Convensia in Incheon, hosted and organized by the Korea Sleep Industry Association and the exhibition and convention planning company Ecomice Co., Ltd.
The event, aiming to promote the development of the sleep industry, which has recently emerged as a highly potential market, will see the participation of 60 companies and about 7,000 attendees.
Through the operation of an independent booth, KTC will conduct various promotional and networking activities, including recruiting companies for sleep validation pilot tests, consultation on validation tasks, and providing consulting for supporting export markets.
Especially, during the conference on the 27th and 28th, KTC Sleep Industry Promotion Center Director Kim Jae-hwan will present on "Sleep Product Validation and Safety Assessment." Director Kim will highlight the validation process of sleep products, the importance of safety assessment, and the crucial role of KTC.
In March of this year, KTC opened the country's first Sleep Industry Promotion Center in Asan, Chungcheongnam-do, capable of providing one-stop corporate support services for sleep-related validation. KTC is pursuing the establishment of a collaborative network among industry, academia, research, and hospitals to lead the global sleep market and is set to receive KOLAS accreditation as an authorized testing institution.
KTC President An Sung-il said, "As sleep economics is a rapidly emerging new growth industry, this will be an opportunity for key companies and experts in the sleep industry to discuss the latest technologies and industry trends." He added, "We will continue to make various efforts to lead the industry through the nation's only sleep industry hub center."
