KTC Joins the 'Advanced Semiconductor Packaging Show'
Korea Testing Certification institute (KTC) will participate in the ‘Advanced Semiconductor Packaging Show', a semiconductor post-processing B2B technology exhibition, held for the first time in Suwon Convention Center from August 30th to September 1st.
During the exhibition, KTC will introduce its capabilities in providing testing services for the system semiconductor field and support and collaboration strategies based on the semiconductor value chain to major institutions and participating companies in the K-semiconductor belt strategic area.
Additionally, KTC will showcase system semiconductor testing equipment, including a semiconductor thermal resistance measurement system for evaluating thermal characteristics of semiconductor devices and a curve tracer for evaluating the electrical characteristics of high-voltage and high-current devices.
The next-generation semiconductor industry is an advanced sector directly related to national competitiveness, requiring R&D and comprehensive ecosystem support. It can be seen as a leading support industry for the government's key strategy of securing a competitive edge. The global market size for system semiconductors is projected to reach $33.89 billion in 2025, more than double that of memory semiconductors, with an expected annual growth rate of 7.6%.
Concurrently, post-processing industries like packaging have gained increasing importance in the competition for leadership in the future global semiconductor market. The global semiconductor packaging market is expected to grow from $48.8 billion in 2020 to $64.9 billion in 2025.
KTC has established a roadmap for the "KTC’s 13 Major Strategic Fields," which include digital transformation, green transformation, future growth, and nationally important industries. Through this roadmap, KTC supports the enhancement of domestic companies' technological capabilities and global competitiveness. It is building practical ecosystems in the component-module-system areas of key advanced semiconductor-related businesses such as display, future mobility, robotics and AI, and biotechnology.
Furthermore, KTC is actively participating in the 'Gyeonggi Province Semiconductor Innovation Network,' where innovation stakeholders from central and local governments, supporting agencies, universities, and associations collaborate as one team to foster innovative growth in the semiconductor industry. KTC plans to undertake joint projects and provide support in collaboration with the government, local authorities, and regional innovation institutions for the ecosystem innovation of the semiconductor industry.
Sungil Ahn, the president of KTC, stated, "We will support companies based on our semiconductor testing and evaluation capabilities to facilitate mutually beneficial growth through the development of semiconductor technology across various industrial sectors."
The ‘Advanced Semiconductor Packaging Show' is being hosted by Gyeonggi Province and Suwon City, with support from Suwon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Korean Microelectronic and Packaging Society, and others. This specialized post-processing exhibition marks its inaugural year.
