KTC Signs MOU to Support Companies in Localized Technology Regulation and Certification

On August 31st, Korea Testing and Certification institute (KTC), led by President Sungil Ahn, announced that they had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for supporting companies in localized technology regulation and certification in collaboration with Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS), Korea Industrial Complex Corporation (KICOX), and six other certification organizations. The signing ceremony took place at the Seoul Digital Industry Complex G-Tower.
The certification organizations participating in the MOU ceremony included KTC, Korea Conformity Laboratories (KCL), Korea Testing&Research Institute (KTR), Korea Apperal Testing&Research Institute(KATRI), FITI Testing&Research Institute, Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL), and KOTITI Testing&Research Institute.
This MOU aims to address and provide support for certification and technology regulation challenges faced by SMEs operating in the 66 national industrial complexes across South Korea under the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation's management. The participating organizations have pledged to provide various forms of support, including identifying and addressing technology regulation and certification challenges at the industrial complex level, offering information and consulting services related to international certifications, discovering and assisting with domestic and international technology regulation and certification challenges, and providing certification-related consultations to businesses.
Additionally, KTC has designated 2023 as the first year of its regional innovation strategy, aligning its 13 key strategic areas with regional industries to expand its testing capabilities. With regional business centers operating across various regions in South Korea, including Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam, Chungcheong, and Honam, KTC expects that this MOU will enable them to support businesses by addressing industry-specific certification and technology regulation challenges.
