KTC Participates in the "Korea Environment & Energy Trade Fair"

Korea Testing Certification institute (KTC) has announced its participation in the "Korea Environment & Energy Trade Fair (KEET 2023)," scheduled to be held at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center in Gwangju from September 6 to 8.

KEET 2023 is an exhibition showcasing innovative technologies in the fields of environment, electricity, and energy, presenting various sustainable development solutions.

During this exhibition, KTC will highlight its core competencies in testing and evaluating electrical equipment, including circuit breakers, power cables, and transformers. They will also share strategies for obtaining international certifications and their expertise in research and development (R&D).

Furthermore, KTC will introduce its 13 strategic fields for digital and green transformation in industries where it excels. They will also present strategies for expanding regional hubs with the goal of supporting Korean companies in leading the market in accordance with evolving future industrial trends.

In recent years, the global demand for power equipment has been steadily increasing due to factors such as carbon neutrality and energy security. The Korea Electrical Manufacturers Association (KOEMA) has projected a 12.8% increase in the export value of the electrical industry for 2023, reaching $13.6 billion. Major domestic power equipment companies like LS Electric Co., Ltd., HD Hyundai Electric Co., Ltd., and Hyosung Heavy Industries have achieved a total order backlog exceeding 10 trillion won in the first half of this year.

In response to this, KTC, as the leading testing and certification organization for power equipment in South Korea, aims to facilitate overseas market entry by providing timely certification support to companies. KTC boasts Asia's largest direct current (DC) 3,600V short-circuit testing facility located in Gokseong, Jeonnam. Additionally, they have internationally standardized testing facilities for 500kV alternating and direct current (AC/DC) high-voltage cables. KTC is also designated as a testing agency in the wire sector by UL, a globally recognized testing and certification organization, enabling the acquisition of UL certification required for exports to markets like the Americas.

As a result, domestic manufacturers can reduce additional costs related to sample transportation, installation, and engineer stays when obtaining certifications abroad, leading to potential cost reductions of up to 50%. Furthermore, expedited on-site responses can cut the certification process duration in half, allowing companies to enhance their export competitiveness through swift product testing and certification.

Sungil Ahn, President of KTC, stated, "As a testing and certification organization for power equipment, we plan to expand our presence in related fields in the future." He emphasized, "Drawing upon our expertise in testing and evaluating power equipment, we will continue our commitment to enhancing the competitiveness of Korean companies and supporting their overseas market endeavors."

In addition, KTC intends to participate in the "Seoul International Electric Fair & Power Generation Korea 2023," organized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, scheduled to take place at COEX in Seoul from October 18 to 20. During the event, KTC will showcase its core roles and technological capabilities in strategic areas.
