Korea Testing Certification institute (KTC), led by President Sungil Ahn, was honored with a merit award during the "KOLAS (Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme) 30th Anniversary Ceremony" hosted by Korean Agency for Technology and Standards. The event was held on the 19th of this month.
The ceremony commemorated the 30th anniversary of the introduction and implementation of the KOLAS accreditation system under the "Measurement Act." Approximately 300 individuals attended the event, including Jang Young-jin, the 1st Vice Minister of Trade, Industry, and Energy, and Jong-wook Jin, the President of Korean Agency for Technology and Standards. The occasion featured recognition of individuals who made significant contributions to global accreditation, the presentation of merit awards, and a vision declaration ceremony.
Since 1994, KTC has been actively involved as an internationally accredited testing organization under the KOLAS scheme. Their reputable testing and certification services have played a vital role in establishing and advancing the accreditation system. Some of their notable achievements include providing comprehensive testing and certification services in the electric vehicle charging sector, issuing blockchain-based test reports, and becoming the first Asian national testing institution designated by Mexico in the three major home appliances sectors (washing machines, air conditioners, refrigerators).
As the sole domestic testing and certification organization, KTC manages various divisions, including the EV Business Group and the EV Charging Business Group. They offer a wide range of testing and certification services, covering batteries, materials, chargers, electric components, semiconductors, and autonomous driving technologies. Moreover, KTC supports domestic companies in obtaining overseas certifications through partnerships with various global certification organizations such as UL Solutions from the USA, VDE from Europe, TUV Rheinland, JET, COSMOS, UL Japan, and PLN from Indonesia.
President Sungil Ahn stated, "We will continue to provide more professional and reliable testing and certification services for a safe and trustworthy society." He also emphasized their commitment to enhancing the competitiveness of domestic companies and supporting exports by leveraging their testing and evaluation capabilities.
