KTC Celebrates Its 54th Anniversary with Vision Declaration and Customer Appreciation Event
Korea Testing Certification institute (KTC) held the "2023 KTC Vision Declaration and Customer Appreciation Event" at its headquarters in Gunpo, Gyeonggi-do on July 5th to announce its new vision and management policies.
With a commitment to prioritize customer satisfaction and pursue mutual growth, KTC visited 100 major client companies for the first time since its establishment and expressed its gratitude by presenting appreciation plaques. In addition, on the day of the Vision Declaration event, 32 key client companies that contributed to the growth of the institute were invited and presented with appreciation awards.

The event was attended by 120 participants, including KTC employees, key customers, and Chairman Ki-chan Kim, and featured video speeches by Congressman Hackyoung Lee(Gunpo, Gyeonggi-do), Mayor Ha Eun-ho of Gunpo City, Administrator Chongwook Chin of Korea Agency for Technology and Standards, and Chairman Yeon-taek Choi of Korean Union of Public Sector Research and Professional Workers(KUPRP).
The Head of the Business Strategy Division introduced new core values, vision, and goals, and announced the roadmap called the "KTC's 13 Major Strategic Fields" as a specific action plan to achieve them.
The establishment of these core values, vision, and goals is rooted in KTC's social responsibility as a provider of public services. KTC supports the expansion of market access through comprehensive certification processes for our export companies' new product releases and strives to provide reliable testing and certification services to ensure consumer safety.
The 13 major strategic fields are broadly divided into three categories. In the first category, the focus is on advancing the development of semiconductors, software, 5G, smart appliances, and intelligent robots in the field of digital transformation. In the second category, in the field of green transformation, efforts are made to strengthen capabilities in electric vehicles, batteries, renewable energy, hydrogen, and carbon reduction, as well as establish a testing and certification foundation. Lastly, in future growth industries and nationally important industries, KTC aims to promote biotechnology and healthcare, materials, components and equipment, defense industries, and aviation.
The key industrial sectors related to the 13 major strategic fields are increasingly converging beyond a single field due to technological advancements. Relevant companies require professional testing and evaluation services from internationally recognized testing and certification organizations such as KTC, in addition to developing products with guaranteed performance.

Recently, the testing and certification market has been growing due to the convergence of industries and initiatives such as carbon neutrality, various environmental regulations, and increased consumer awareness of safety. The domestic market size in related areas is estimated to be around 15.7 trillion won in 2023, and the global market is expected to reach 339 trillion won. Therefore, KTC has restructured its business strategy to expand its presence beyond domestic boundaries and into the global market.
KTC has signed business agreements with 60 testing and certification organizations in 34 countries, assisting in obtaining the necessary certifications for overseas expansion and supporting business growth. Additionally, KTC faithfully fulfills its role in regional innovation by establishing key industrial infrastructure in various regions of South Korea and actively supporting government policy support agencies.
