Korea Testing Certification institute (KTC) and the Gyeonggi Environmental Energy Agency (GEEA) have announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on April 11th. The agreement aims to facilitate collaboration in exploring and managing policies and projects in the environmental and energy sectors.

Both organizations have committed to jointly developing projects focused on reducing fluorinated greenhouse gases and managing environmental hazards, with the goal of supporting companies in achieving RE100. They will also collaborate on initiatives aimed at improving air and water quality, contributing to the realization of carbon neutrality in Gyeonggi Province.

In addition, KTC and GEEA plan to work together on policy project management and research activities to promote the growth of water companies in Gyeonggi Province. They will offer fee reductions for the verification, testing, and analysis of exceptional water technologies and products, providing support for companies involved in new product development and exports.

KTC is an internationally accredited testing and certification institution at the forefront of the digital and green transformation of industries. The organization is committed to enhancing product safety and improving the technological capabilities of companies. Through its extensive network with major countries worldwide, KTC contributes to enhancing national export competitiveness by reducing overseas certification costs.

Established in December 2021, GEEA is the first specialized public institution in the country dedicated to environmental and energy matters. The agency's mission is to enhance the quality of life for Gyeonggi residents and improve the local environment. GEEA plays a central role in shaping policies and overseeing projects related to Gyeonggi Province's carbon neutrality efforts, including the operation of the Gyeonggi Carbon Neutrality Support Center.

President Sungil Ahn of KTC emphasized, "In the era of carbon neutrality, we are committed to enhancing the competitiveness of Gyeonggi companies in the environmental and energy sectors, thereby contributing to industrial development."

Director Kim Hyun-kwon of GEEA stated, "Through cooperative efforts to explore various technologies and policies in the environmental and energy sectors, we will strive to achieve Gyeonggi Province's carbon neutrality by 2050 and improve the quality of environmental services provided to residents."
