KTC, the World’s No. 1 Testing Certification Institute Leading the Way to the 4th Industrial Revolution
Korea Testing Certification institute (KTC) has announced that a delegation of 15 representatives from Moroccan government ministries, research institutions, and business executives participated in the Technology Advice and Solution from Korea (TASK) Project Domestic Industrial Site Visit organized by KTC from April 10th to 14th.
During the site visit, KTC led the Moroccan delegation to various locations, including the KTC Acoustic Building Solar Testing Facility, the Siwha Lake Renewable Energy Complex, and the Hanwha Technics Module Production Line. These visits provided valuable insights into the current state and advancements of the solar energy industry in Korea.
The event also featured several programs, such as a seminar focused on fostering the Korean solar energy industry, a business networking luncheon with domestic solar energy companies, and a visit to the 2023 International Green Energy Expo. These activities aimed to introduce the latest solar energy technologies from Korea and facilitate one-on-one business matching with relevant companies.
The TASK project is part of the Official Development Assistance (ODA) program initiated by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy. It aims to support industrial development in developing countries through technology assistance and create export opportunities for domestic companies. Within the TASK project, KTC is responsible for the Moroccan solar energy equipment sector.
In the previous month, a delegation of Korean experts visited Morocco and achieved significant progress by signing a Memorandum of Understanding for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of a 20 MW solar power plant with a local company, GAIA.
Although Morocco has favorable conditions for solar energy development, such as abundant sunlight, the country faces challenges in diversifying its energy sources due to a high dependency on energy imports and limited renewable energy technology capabilities. Through participation in the TASK project with KTC, Morocco aims to enhance its technical capacity in the solar energy equipment sector and increase the share of solar power generation.
Ms. Soukaina Boudoudouh, TR&D and Innovation Programs Technical Manager at IRESEN (Moroccan Institute for Renewable Energy Research), representing the Moroccan delegation, expressed, "Morocco has optimal geographical conditions for solar power projects but still lacks the necessary technology. We hope that the TASK project will transfer excellent Korean technologies to Morocco."
President Sungil Ahn of KTC stated, "Through the industrial site visit by the Moroccan delegation, we hope to establish a close and ongoing cooperation in the solar energy sector. We will continue to provide comprehensive support for expanding the overseas presence of domestic companies."
