KTC Joins the 11th Busan International Machinery Fair to Support the Machinery Industry and Workforce Development
Date 2023-06-16 Views441

"Participating as the representative institution of the Machinery Industry Skills Council (ISC)"

"Introducing domestic and international testing, certification, and export support measures"

Korea Testing Certification institute (KTC) has announced its participation in the 11th Busan International Machinery Fair, scheduled to take place from May 16th to 19th at BEXCO in Busan. During the fair, KTC will actively engage in the activities of the Machinery Industry Skills Council (ISC) and provide comprehensive support to companies in the machinery sector, including testing, evaluation, and acquiring domestic and international certifications to facilitate their exports.

KTC holds the distinction of being the first testing and certification organization designated as the representative institution of the ISC in the machinery industry. It assumes responsibility for project management in the machinery field and supports demand-driven workforce development by assessing the current workforce supply situation in relevant areas and integrating it with training initiatives.

Furthermore, KTC will conduct assessments on the technological status of participating exhibitors, identifying promising areas within the machinery industry and developing job maps accordingly. Additionally, they will be actively seeking participation from companies interested in tailored consulting services, based on the National Competency Standard (NCS), to support competency-based recruitment and training for their current employees.

The NCS (National Competency Standard) is a standardized system established by the government to categorize the knowledge, skills, and qualifications necessary for job performance across various industries and proficiency levels.

Moreover, KTC has been formulating and implementing roadmaps in 13 strategic fields to facilitate smooth adaptation for domestic companies in digital, green, and future growth industries, as well as in industries of national importance. The utilization of KTC's core competencies related to digital transformation is anticipated to contribute significantly to the development of a workforce aligned with the next-generation machinery industry.

KTC also intends to provide valuable insights to participating companies regarding successful adaptation to the digital transformation of the machinery industry, including smart factories. This will encompass offering one-stop services for performance certification tests in relevant fields, KS certification tests, and introducing methods for acquiring overseas certifications to facilitate exports to regions such as the Americas and Europe.

As an organization possessing core competencies in various software and 5G fields essential for smart factory operations, KTC is capable of providing comprehensive testing and certification services in the information and communication domain. This includes GS certification for software quality, Common Criteria Certification (CC) for information security product evaluation, and certification for information and communication network connection devices (IoT security). With the ability to carry out tasks such as information security certification and security function testing, KTC stands ready to offer substantial assistance to companies driving digital transformation.

President Sungil Ahn of KTC stated, "Building upon our testing and evaluation capabilities, we are committed to supporting the development of new products, testing and certification processes, and overseas exports for manufacturing companies. Moreover, through the operation of the Machinery Industry Human Resources Development Committee, we will strive to provide systematic support for workforce development."

The 11th Busan International Machinery Fair, focusing on the theme of "Environmentally Friendly Manufacturing Innovation and the Convergence of Digital Technology," is set to be the largest event of its kind, with the participation of 453 companies from 28 countries worldwide.
