KTC, the World’s No. 1 Testing Certification Institute Leading the Way to the 4th Industrial Revolution
KTC Implements Organizational Restructuring to Support Digital-Green Industry Transition and Strengthen Regional Development and Support for Export Companies
On February 21st, Korea Testing Certification institute (KTC) announced that it has carried out an organizational restructuring aimed at proactively responding to the digital and green transition of industries and supporting the growth of regional areas and the overseas expansion of Korean companies.
To support technological advancements and industrial development in the hydrogen and disaster safety industries, KTC has established the "Machine Convergence Industry Division" to drive the performance verification of new products and related research projects. Within this division, a new "Regional industrial regeneration head" has been introduced to actively support the growth of local companies. In particular, the plan includes the establishment of a foundation based on intelligent machine parts*, which is one of the key industries in the Yeongnam region, to drive the development of related industries and the regional economy.
*Intelligent Machine Parts: High-value machine parts that combine IT technology with machinery and automation production process equipment to create innovative functions.
Furthermore, to support Korean companies facing challenges in formulating carbon-neutral strategies, KTC plans to establish a "Carbon Neutral Project Group" within the Bio Environment Industry Division to facilitate the development of carbon verification infrastructure.
In order to emphasize the core functions of the organization with clear and intuitive names, the "Enterprise Support Division" has been renamed as the "Certification Support Division." Additionally, to enhance support for companies' overseas expansion efforts, a new "Global Certification and Biz Unit" has been established within the division. This unit will strengthen collaboration and cooperation in supporting export companies, with dedicated departments and overseas branches responsible for overseas certification, overseas business, and technology regulation compliance. Expansion plans for current branches in China, Indonesia, and the United Arab Emirates are being reviewed, along with exploring opportunities in regions such as the Americas and Europe.
Furthermore, to improve coordination and efficiency of administrative tasks and enhance synergy among management support departments, the four directly managed departments and the Industrial-Academic-Institute Cooperation Department within the Enterprise Support Division have been integrated into the Business Strategy Division.
President Sungil Ahn of KTC stated, "We will continue to make sustained efforts to support companies in adapting to the digital-green industry transition, contributing to the nation's industrial development."
