KTC, the World’s No. 1 Testing Certification Institute Leading the Way to the 4th Industrial Revolution
"Supporting Security Compliance Testing for Military-Adopted Information Protection Products and IoT Devices"
Korea Testing Certification institute (KTC) and the Defense Counter intelligence Command (Information Protection Unit) have signed a business agreement on March 29th to strengthen the security compliance testing and certification capabilities for military information protection products and IoT devices.
Through the collaboration of both organizations, it is expected that the latest information protection products and IoT devices in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution will be introduced to the military more swiftly and securely, contributing to the development of a technologically advanced military force.
KTC is the only testing and certification organization in Korea that operates information communication division, providing evaluation services for information protection products (CC evaluation), software quality certification (GS certification), and information protection certification for communication network equipment, including IoT security. Recently, it has also been designated as a cyber security testing organization by NEMKO, a global certification body based in Norway. KTC is at the forefront of the digital industry.
The Defense Counterintelligence Command is a military information and investigation agency responsible for military security and intelligence work, and the Information Protection Unit specializes in security tasks related to advanced technologies such as cyber, encryption, and electromagnetic waves.
President Sungil Ahn of KTC stated, "Through close collaboration with the Information Protection Unit, we will spare no effort in supporting the swift and secure application of cutting-edge security technologies from the private sector to the military."
The head of the Information Protection Unit mentioned, "Through this business agreement with KTC, we anticipate the advancement of security compliance testing for the latest IoT devices adopted by the military." They further added, "In the future, the Defense Counterintelligence Command and KTC will lead the way with state-of-the-art security technologies, shaping the future."
