On October 13th (Friday), Korea Testing Certification institute (KTC, President Sungil Ahn) announced the signing of a joint agreement for the activation of the automotive parts industry in collaboration with Korea Transportation Safety Authority (TS, President Yong-bok Kwon) and Korea Automobile Parts Association (KAPA, President Byeong-seong Oh).
This agreement aims to boost the automobile parts industry by providing support for parts testing, certification, and technological development. The participating organizations will engage in joint ventures, leveraging their infrastructure and specialized technology.
As part of this collaboration, Korea Transportation Safety Authority intends to establish a system supporting testing, certification, and technological development for parts companies through the utilization of the Automobile Parts Certification Support Center in Naepo New Town, Chungnam.
Construction of the Automobile Parts Certification Support Center, spanning 9,006 square meters, is slated for completion in Naepo New Town by 2023. Currently, 22 testing labs, including facilities for external parts and ignition testing, along with 63 types of equipment, have been incorporated.
Under this agreement, the involved institutions will collaborate on ▲ consulting, development, testing, inspection, and certification services for automobile parts companies, ▲ supporting technological advancements in the automobile parts sector, and ▲ certifying future car-related devices and parts, all aimed at bolstering the automobile parts industry.
Additionally, there are plans to enhance technical support for international market entry by bolstering the competitiveness of the domestic parts industry through continuous exchange initiatives.
President Sungil Ahn of KTC emphasized, "The global automotive industry is swiftly transitioning toward eco-friendly future vehicles. Consequently, the related parts industry must evolve as a vital sector for national growth." He further explained, "Through this collaboration, KTC will expand development and testing for all items subject to certification, thereby enhancing the export competitiveness of domestic companies."
President Yong-bok Kwon of TS expressed optimism, stating, "We anticipate that this business agreement will significantly contribute to the technological development and industrial activation of domestic automobile parts companies. We are committed to actively supporting the enhancement of technical capabilities for substitute parts among small and medium-sized enterprises through the utilization of the Automobile Parts Certification Support Center."
President Byeong-seong Oh of KAPA stated, "Through the collective collaboration of these three institutions, we will drive the activation of the parts industry. We will provide product launch and market consulting tailored for the challenging domestic small-scale automobile parts sector. Additionally, we will offer technical education and promotional support for relevant employees."
