KTC, the World’s No. 1 Testing Certification Institute Leading the Way to the 4th Industrial Revolution
KTC and KDIA Collaborate to Support Transparent Display Companies and Facilitate Global Expansion
On November 1st, Korea Testing Certification institute (KTC) and the Korea Display Industry Association (KDIA) jointly announced the signing of a business agreement aimed at nurturing domestic SMEs in the transparent display panel sector (materials, components, equipment) and assisting them in their export endeavors.
The two organizations have decided to work together on defining technical standards, customized testing and certification, and reliability verification within the transparent display market, capitalizing on KTC's expertise in 13 strategic fields. They plan to assist related companies in acquiring overseas certifications, provide country-specific certification information, and offer education on the certification process.
Transparent displays find applications in diverse fields such as transparent, extended reality (XR), and automotive displays. According to KDIA's "Analysis Report on the Value Chain of Automotive Displays," the global market for automotive displays is projected to reach 16 trillion won by 2027. Samsung Display has been securing clients, including Audi, BMW, and Ferrari, since April.
The key aspects of the agreement include ▲supporting consumer-oriented testing and certification services in the display sector ▲providing evaluation assistance for material and component performance to enhance the technological competitiveness of domestic SMEs in the future mobility and display sectors ▲sharing relevant information, including certification procedures and regulatory details for country-specific certifications, as well as offering related educational programs and consulting services.
Additionally, KTC and KDIA have decided to participate in the "Transparent Display Industry Consultative Body" to establish a collaborative network for market activation. This consultative body includes transparent display panel companies, SMEs, and the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, such as LG Display, APS, GlowOne, Sungheung TS, and MRK. The consultative body aims to support transparent display companies throughout the entire process, from prototype production to verification and expanding their overseas presence.
President Sungil Ahn of KTC stated, "We are committed to actively supporting the growth of display SMEs and KDIA member companies, assisting them in acquiring overseas certifications by leveraging KTC's testing and evaluation capabilities and global testing and certification agency channels. We will strive to enhance cooperation between the two organizations, leading the international market in the transparent display industry."
