KTC, the World’s No. 1 Testing Certification Institute Leading the Way to the 4th Industrial Revolution
KTC Joins 'H2 MEET 2023', the Premier Hydrogen Industry Expo
Korea Testing Certification institute (KTC) announced on the 12th that they will be participating in 'H2 MEET 2023' the largest domestic hydrogen industry exhibition in Korea, which will be held at KINTEX Hall 1 in Goyang from the 13th to the 15th of September.
At this event, KTC aims to demonstrate its comprehensive testing capabilities across the entire hydrogen ecosystem, encompassing production, storage, transportation, and utilization. They will also unveil their strategic roadmap for establishing a robust testing and evaluation framework within the hydrogen sector.
Furthermore, KTC will introduce its ongoing national project, 'Non-metallic Material Hydrogen Infiltration Suitability Evaluation and Gas Flow Rate Error Verification Safety Technology Development.' This initiative seeks to blend hydrogen into city gas, reducing gas costs in response to increased heating expenses stemming from events like the Ukraine conflict. KTC will emphasize their commitment to developing gas flow rate error verification technology to ensure precise billing for hydrogen-infused city gas.
The global hydrogen production market, recognized as a future energy source, is expected to reach $201.4 billion by 2025, with an annual growth rate of 9.2% from $129.6 billion in 2020 . This has prompted increased interest and support for research and development from both nations and businesses.
In response to this trend, KTC has actively forged strategic partnerships with relevant organizations to foster the growth of the hydrogen industry as one of its 13 Strategic Fields. Following their collaboration agreement with Changwon National University in June for hydrogen-related research, development, education, and technology exchange, they have recently committed to collaborating with ECM (Ente Certificazione Macchine srl), the first international certification and testing organization in Korea, to obtain European certification (CE) for hydrogen products and storage facilities.
KTC's President, Sungil Ahn, stated, "In the short term, we will support the development of new products and export channels for hydrogen-related companies, focusing not only on flow rate errors in hydrogen-blended gases but also on strengthening our capabilities in hydrogen refueling station metrology inspection, clean hydrogen field testing, and liquefied hydrogen performance testing. Moreover, we will actively contribute to creating a hydrogen industry ecosystem, enabling Korean companies to lead the global hydrogen market."
'H2 MEET 2023' aims to nurture Korea's hydrogen industry as a pioneering next-generation sector and establish a global hydrogen industry ecosystem. This year's exhibition will feature participation from 280 companies across 17 countries, showcasing a diverse range of products and technologies related to hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and utilization.
