KTC, the World’s No. 1 Testing Certification Institute Leading the Way to the 4th Industrial Revolution
KTC Inks Pact with KITECH to Propel Growth of Local Companies through Strategic Tech Collaboration
Korea Testing Certification institute (KTC) revealed that it has entered into a business agreement with the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH) to bolster the technological competitiveness of domestic companies and facilitate their foray into international markets.
The agreement, formalized at KITECH's headquarters in Cheonan, delineates joint endeavors between the two organizations in nurturing local businesses. This encompasses collaborative initiatives in technology R&D, testing and certification, assistance for overseas expansion, cooperative development of integrated manufacturing technologies, and engagement in international standardization activities. The cooperative efforts also encompass the 12 major national strategic technology areas identified by the government last year to secure next-generation growth drivers and cutting-edge technologies.
These 12 major national strategic technology areas span semiconductors, displays, secondary batteries, next-generation nuclear power, hydrogen, next-generation communication (5G and 6G), advanced bioengineering, space and aviation, quantum technology, AI, advanced robotics and manufacturing, and advanced mobility.
The two organizations will collaborate on joint research for official development assistance (ODA) projects, infrastructure development, and joint testing and evaluation initiatives. Since July, KTC has been actively involved in the "Korea-Uzbekistan Rare Metal Center Commercialization Project," with a total project cost of 142.5 billion won, spearheaded by KITECH. Building upon the success of this collaboration, KTC envisions exploring further joint ventures with KITECH's overseas branches in the future.
As a premier internationally accredited testing and certification body in Korea, KTC strategically selected and implemented 13 Strategic Fields to spearhead the digital and green transformation of industries. Leveraging its network with major international testing and certification bodies, KTC is actively contributing to streamlining the time and cost associated with obtaining overseas certifications for Korean companies, thus enhancing the country's export competitiveness.
KITECH, as the sole practical-oriented research institute in Korea, specializes in the development and practical application of convergence manufacturing technologies. The collaboration between these two organizations is anticipated to generate synergies in supporting the growth of domestic companies in the 12 major national strategic technology areas.
Sungil Ahn, president of KTC, affirmed, "Drawing upon the capabilities and expertise of both organizations, we are committed to laying the groundwork for companies to secure next-generation growth drivers and cutting-edge technologies. Our utmost efforts will be directed towards enhancing the competitiveness of Korean companies and spearheading industrial development."
