The Korea Testing and Research Institute for Chemical, Electrical and Machinery (referred to as KTC, headed by Director An Seong-il) announced its participation in the "21st International Green Energy Expo" on the 23rd.

This expo, held over three days from April 24th (Wednesday) to April 26th (Friday), took place in halls 2, 4, 5, and 6 of the East and West wings at the Daegu Exhibition & Convention Center (EXCO), hosted by the city of Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do, and organized by EXCO along with the Korea Photovoltaic Industry Association, the Korea Renewable Energy Association, the Korea Wind Power Industry Association, and the Korea Hydrogen Industry Association.

The expo, co-organized by the four major domestic renewable energy associations, is the largest of its kind in South Korea and ranks among the top three in Asia and top ten worldwide.

The exhibition sectors include photovoltaics (PV), energy storage systems (ESS), small wind, micro-hydro, biomass, nuclear, and gasification technologies, with a specialized B2B PV exhibition and concurrent international conferences, training sessions, and export consultations.

KTC anticipates a significant turnout of global solar module and inverter companies from 25 countries, such as Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, and Asia, and plans to promote its extensive testing infrastructure and corporate support services, including evaluations of large-scale solar inverters (power conversion devices) and ESS systems.

KTC is promoting its unique capabilities and infrastructure, including South Korea's only large-scale 1MW-class inverter testing facility, and the world's largest, and Korea's only ESS fire safety verification center opened in Samcheok, Gangwon Province in September last year, featuring a 2MW-class PCS (Power Conversion System) for ESS, electrical hazard testing equipment, and one-stop fire safety testing and certification services.

Additionally, KTC introduces ongoing initiatives related to corporate support, including an integrated ESS evaluation system, international standardization for ESS companies, and overseas market entry support strategies, as part of the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy's ESS Power Strategy announced in October 2023, aiming to achieve a 35% share of the global ESS market by 2036.

Through its participation in the expo, KTC expects to establish a foundation for inter-company cooperation, leading to new revenue and business expansion opportunities.

Director An Seong-il of KTC stated, "We plan to actively promote KTC's core testing and evaluation capabilities and services related to the renewable energy and smart grid industries. We will continue to expand related infrastructure and strengthen overseas business marketing to support the growth of domestic companies."
